Summary of Research Interests
I focus my scholarly research on the intersection of city planning, immigration, and sustainable neighborhood revitalization. I use detailed narrative case studies to explore ethnic identity, equity, and bioregionalism. My research highlights and investigates equitable planning outcomes achieved by:
- Integrating an environmental ethic through bioregionalism
- Providing access to affordable housing,
- Supporting inclusive land-use policies,
- Recognizing generative types of economic development
- Providing access to public and active transportation options, and
- Designing transparent public participation mechanisms to revitalize urban cities and rural towns.
Research Focus Areas
- Bioregional revitalization in human settlements within the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador.
- Changing ecological labor practices in Oregon's forest industry.
Courses
- Urban Planning History
- Justice and Urban Revitalization
